Nestled in the breathtaking Wahgi Valley of Papua New Guinea's Western Highlands, the Sigri plantation has a storied history dating back to the 1950s. Over the decades, it has cultivated a stellar reputation for producing gourmet coffee that consistently ranks among the best in the world. The plantation specializes in the cultivation of Arabica beans, with a particular focus on Typica varieties that have their roots in the renowned Jamaica Blue Mountain region. The primary harvest season spans from May to July, during which the meticulous cultivation and processing techniques are employed to ensure that every batch meets the highest standards of quality.

The production of Sigri is characterized by a rigorous wet processing method that begins right in the fields. Coffee cherries are hand-picked with great care, ensuring that only the ripest, fully red cherries are selected to achieve the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. On the same day they are harvested, the cherries are pulped, and the fermentation process begins, lasting for three days with regular washing every 24 hours. What sets Sigri apart is their unique post-fermentation process, where the cherries are soaked in water for an additional day, enhancing the coffee's flavor profile and contributing to its distinctive character.

To further elevate the flavor experience, all Sigri is sun-dried, allowing the beans to develop their rich taste in a natural environment. After drying, the beans undergo careful conditioning, hulling, grading, and hand-sorting to ensure only the finest quality reaches consumers. The Sigri plantation is committed to sustainable practices, emphasizing soil and water conservation, which makes it both eco-friendly and bird-friendly. Their innovative "medium density shade" strategy employs two types of shade trees, providing essential protection for the coffee plants while promoting biodiversity in the surrounding ecosystem.
